I’m looking forward to the The 6th Annual Natural History of the Gila Symposium “Creative Voices” on Thursday, February 25, 2016 7:30-9:00 pm GRC Auditorium. I just learned that I have been selected to read a small collection of poems dedicated to each fork of this grand river. I am so honored to be part of such an important celebration. It takes a great deal of community organizing to keep this glorious river flowing freely. Much of it is accomplished by a dedicated staff and volunteers at the Gila Conservation Coalition. http://www.gilaconservation.org/. Their efforts and the love of nature that moves so many of us to activism make this river our ideal classroom at Aldo Leopold Charter School. We have been taking students into the wilderness for over ten years now and none of that would be possible without our greater community. I am humbled by so many beautiful and hardworking folks. Here is the final schedule for this glorious event. Come one come all!SymposiumScheduleFinalRev_2016 (1)
